Volunteers at Well House Hospice

Volunteers are the heart of hospice. Without them most hospices would not be able to carry on their work. Of the 115,000 persons involved in hospice care in America, some 95,000 are volunteers. Each year they give more than 5 million hours to helping patients and their families and provide assistance at all skill levels. Many are relatives and friends of former hospice patients who have experienced first hand how much hospice can help.

Volunteers assistance includes:

• regular Hospice Interdisciplinary Treatment Team meetings

• physical, occupational and speech therapy

• homemaker services and home health aid services

To qualify to assist in patient care, volunteers must undergo a rigorous training program. Wells House Hospice would be happy to have you call, (888) 280-9443, or visit to find out more about hospice volunteer work.
