The Wells House Hospice Mission

"To provide compassionate end-of-life care to patients and their families and promote end-of-life education and training for health care teams and the community"

Wells House Hospice Program's highly trained interdisciplinary treatment team provides compassionate palliative treatment and end-of-life care to patients without regard to diagnosis. A critical part of caring for a terminally-ill patient is providing emotional and spiritual support for the patient's family and and friends. Care can be provided in the patient's home, in acute hospitals, in skilled nursing facilities or in Wells House free-standing hospice facility in Long Beach.

Assisting in preparing medical, allied health and human service professionals to care for patients at the end of life is an important charge at Wells House Hospice Program (WHHP) and Wells House Hospice Foundation, Inc. (WHHF). As a teaching hospice, we provide internships and rotations for medical, allied health and human service students. Similarly, WHHP and WHHF provide continuing education seminars and workshops in end-of-life/palliative education for health care and human service professionals.
